WORK AT OSC

BE A PART OF A LEGACY

Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection. The Human Resources team ensures a thorough background check of all applicants including a police clearance report and reference checks.

At OSC, we are looking for caring, enthusiastic and qualified educators to join our learning community. We seek those who value an inquiry-based approach and recognize learning as going beyond the walls of the classroom.

We want teachers who understand that experiential learning is key. Beyond learning facts and content, conceptual understanding and interdisciplinary approaches support life-long learning. Teachers who value a holistic approach to learning fit well into our community. IB experience is highly preferred, and those with previous IB training and experience will be carefully reviewed by our leadership team. Ultimately, we are looking for great teachers who demonstrate high quality teaching, develop positive relationships, are reflective about their practice, and are willing to share, learn, and improve. Previous experience living overseas and experience working in a similar international school is an advantage. An undergraduate university degree along with qualified teacher status (QTS) or teaching certification (TC) from an appropriate governing body and at least 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a similarly accredited school is required.

CURRICULUM

Our curriculum framework is IB throughout and our high school prepares students for university. OSC is proud to be the only IB World School in Sri Lanka. We are authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), and fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Middle State Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). OSC is a full member of the South Asian Inter-School Association (SAISA) and Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA).

Professional Development

At OSC, we believe an exemplary school is a dynamic learning environment for all its educators and students. We further believe that good teaching makes the difference in student learning and that the best teachers continually strive to grow in their teaching practice through the process of reflection and collaboration with their colleagues. To this end, OSC dedicates 2% of its annual budget to the ongoing professional development of its staff.
