IB graduates exhibit signs of a more successful university experience

OSC - the only international school in Colombo to offer the International Baccalaureate programme.

As of January 2013, the IB MYP certificate will now be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as being commensurate to the Grade 10 Indian Board Assessment. Therefore, students who earn the IB MYP certificate may now apply for admission to Indian schools for grade 11.

In order for students to achieve the IB MYP certificate, students must ;

• attend an IB MYP school for grades 9 and 10
• take a Language B class in both grades 9 and 10
• take 8 subjects, and spend at least 50 hours per year in each of the 8 subjects*
• complete the personal project and earn a grade of 3 on the project
• earn 36 of a possible 63 grade points
• earn above a 2 in each of the 8 subject areas
• fulfill the community service requirement

*English as an Additional Language and Learning Support classes are not included in the 8 IB MYP subject areas.
