At OSC, our beliefs are firmly grounded in “holistic” education: we therefore believe that artistic creativity is something that needs to be encouraged, harnessed and celebrated.

We have three bright and spacious art studios: one for the exclusive use of IB Diploma Visual Arts students, one for Primary School, another for the Secondary School. Students’ artwork is prominent throughout the OSC campus, including in the foyer of our auditorium where an artwork from each graduating class is selected for display as a permanent exhibit. There are annual diploma exhibitions and displays of MYP artwork throughout the year.

Our Art Studios are active, creative places where students can work with a range of media, including photography (both digital and traditional using our own dark room), ceramics (we have pottery wheels and a kiln), sculpture, textiles, print and of course drawing and painting.

Art students are encouraged to visit art galleries and exhibitions whenever they have the opportunity and field trips are organised whenever there is a large show in Colombo. Keen young artists also have the opportunity to participate in SAISA Arts events within the region and Art competitions as and when they arise.
