“Go GECKOS Go!” is the cheer that rises up from the spectator stands as we approach our 6-lane 25 metre swimming pool. All students at OSC are swimmers and the annual Swimming Gala is a huge community event that we look forward to every year.

The Geckos, the pride of OSC, regularly participate in international and national swimming meets. The international meets are held with international schools from countries in the South East Asian region. These highly competitive events demonstrate the strength and excellence of our swimming team ages 10 to 18. These swimming meets are some of the most exciting events for the entire school since every other year students from other countries come to Sri Lanka and are hosted in the homes of our students. The same hospitality applies to our students when we travel to other countries.

All students have weekly swimming classes and are encouraged to become competent swimmers with the youngest starting at the age of four. The swimming class is conducted by our highly trained swimming coaches and overlooked by the class teacher. At OSC we have the best swim training equipment and for a bit of fun in the water, we have balls, rings, floats and pool noodles. The pool is part of our life at the OSC community including parents who swim after hours.
