Faculty

We believe that there is nothing more important for the success of a school than employing the right teachers. Our intent is to recruit and retain the most outstanding educators to teach OSC students. In addition, we strive to maintain diversity on our teaching staff through international recruitment worldwide. We also maintain a core of outstanding Sri Lankan teachers to give us the perspective of our local culture and environment in addition to their regular teaching assignments. We currently employ 57 teachers and 14 assistant teachers, from 08 nationalities.

Our curriculum is IB throughout and our high school is college preparatory.

OSC is proud to be the only IB World School in Sri Lanka. We are authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IB), and fully accredited by the Council of International Schools, UK (CIS) and Middle State Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). OSC is a full member of the South Asian Inter-School Association (SAISA) and Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA).

Professional development

At OSC, we believe an exemplary school is a dynamic learning environment for all its educators and students. We further believe that good teaching makes the difference in student learning and that the best teachers continually strive to grow in their teaching practice through the process of reflection and collaboration with their colleagues. To this end, OSC dedicates 2% of its annual budget to the ongoing professional development of its staff.

The Overseas School of Colombo (OSC) has been alerted to a potential scam that targets job seekers applying to international schools.  The scammers ask candidates seeking overseas employment to send money for various fees (application fees, tickets, recruitment fees etc...) in order to process the application.  OSC does not request money for applying to the school, nor do we ask for personal information such as bank account numbers.  Please be extremely cautious if you receive a communication that appears to be from The Overseas School of Colombo in which you are asked for money and/or personal information.  Thank you!
