At the First General Assembly of COMUN 2017 prepare to debate topics with international relevance requiring expansive knowledge of the international security regime. We want to discover new avenues to the pursuit of lasting international peace as opposed to using the well trodden path. We want delegates to take newly emerging concepts on the international security arena and turn them into implementable solutions. We require technical brilliance and a open mind. GENERAL ASSEMBLY 3 - SOCHUM
The Third General Assembly is a committee which will be a diplomatic forum, with an encouraging environment for those starting and those continuing their initial stages of their Model United Nations career.
We’re looking for delegates that are able to understand conventional social problems from a broader perspective and formulate grassroot level solutions. We’re seeking for diplomats that are willing to put themselves in the shoes of the victims, in order to create a spectrum of approaches. Finally, as a head table we are expecting constant improvement from our delegates.
Practice Debate Topic 1: Reviewing the issues that women endure in order to implement mechanisms to empower them worldwide
Practice Debate Topic 2: Discussing the protection and establishment of labour rights for citizens in LEDC's with special emphasis on the International Labour Standards

Conference Day Topic: The Evolution of the Human rights of prisoners by interpreting torture in the light of practice and jurisprudence of international bodies and their social predicament
GENERAL ASSEMBLY 4 - SPECPOL
The General Assembly 4 this time will not only incorporate “special, political and decolonization” issues but also aspects of international law and security; therefore, the head table expects the delegates to be well prepared on these aspects. Furthermore the head table also expects delegates of advanced and intermediate caliber.
This year the committee would be ranging from aspects of Rule of Law to Self-Determination to the question of statehood and etc. So General Assembly 4 this year would be one committee you would not want to miss.

WORLD HEALTH ASSEMBLY
The WHA aims to give students who currently study health oriented subjects a forum to apply relevant knowledge. Yet, we expect delegates to have a desire to learn and thereby research to great extents. As a result, not only will a delegate have the right to debate more, but also the understanding of his/her academic concepts multiplies. Within the halls of this committee, knowledge truly is power.
Practice Debate Topic 1: The mitigation of PTSD that emerges from conflicted states with prominence on the Sri Lankan Civil War.
Practice Debate Topic 2: Burgeoning healthcare towards the elderly with implications of the Pharmaceutical-Industrial complex.

Conference Day Topic: The question of robotics utilized in medical surgery and the implications of forthcoming technologies in redesigning the health sphere.
ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL
In a world still recovering from the turmoil of economic calamity, amidst a social crisis and a reforming European Union the Economic and Social Council plans to develop a holistic strategy to resolve and asses the current global crisis. The head table this year expects the delegates to be Experienced and well researched.
Practice Debate Topic 1: Addressing income Inequality: Discussing a holistic Strategy to mitigate the effects of income inequality and a socio-economic policy reform.
Practice Debate Topic 2: Assessing the post Financial Crisis: With Special Emphasis to debt restructuring and the social crisis.
Practice Debate Topic 3: Accountability and protection of nations party to and external to trade agreements and partnerships in the progression of the global economy.

FUTURISTIC SECURITY COUNCIL
Taking a leap into the future, can we make the world a better place? If you don’t know SC, this committee is not for you. Delegates should bring either a laptop or tablet to the practice debate sessions.

Practice Debate Topic 2: The Inevitability of BREXIT comes true as the UK enacts article 50 of the EU constitution, what security ramifications will this have in a world still in recovery from the 2008 crash and long term conflict in the middle east.
Meanwhile tensions across in the Pacific increase as the mobilization of the US fleet near Japan once again increasing the prospects of conflict, will we see an end to the saga of the South China Sea?
