OSC follows the northern hemisphere school year. It comprises approximately 180 teaching days and extends from mid-August to mid-June, with vacations in October (one week) December-January (three weeks), April (one week) and June-August (seven weeks). The school observes local holidays according to the Sri Lankan mercantile calendar. The school year is split into two academic semesters with four quarters for grading and reporting purposes.
